This website is for sharing my web apps, digital art, poems and my three interpretations of the Dao De Jing by Laozi. I designed the text and image apps, and Claude AI wrote the code.
FASType: The first app is a text editor that simulates the look of a typewriter. It uses a monospace font, which means columns of numbers align perfectly, and it has many of the standard Rich Text Format ((rtf) editing features, like bold, italic and underlined text. I have added red text, among other enhanced features. It uses your browser's spell check capability as well. It has a typewriter format, being designed for letter size paper. Your printed pages will look like the ones on the screen. Press F1 for a helpful list of the key controls. All actions are initiated by keystrokes. Typewriters don't have menus. Lack of menus means speedier editing, hence the name FASType. Your work is saved as a private web page with an html extension.

I also have some apps for image viewing and editing.
PICTool: The second app is an image viewer/editor that features image transformations and adjustments. It provides a way to load many images at once and page through them using the tab and backspace keys. If you see an image that needs changing you can make the edits and save them as a jpg or a png file. Of course you can open one image at a time to use the tools that it provides. This app is called PICTool. With this and the other image apps below, use Ctrl-Shift-P for printing your images. This way you will get your printer driver software where you can specify glossy or matte photo paper for best quality prints.
Layer Studio: Load two layers and blend them with various blend modes and an opacity slider. Great for adding textures and frames. You can also use a reveal brush on the top (visible) layer to slowly reveal what is on the underlayer. Good for restoring detail if the underlayer is the original of a filtered upper layer.
The image editing apps below are designed to transform images into digital art. The apps will transform your images through filtering and then allow you to selectively erase some of the effect in areas you select using a reveal brush. They allow you to return original detail in areas you choose——good for eyes and faces especially.
Simplifier: A Kuwahara simplifier with a reveal brush and an opacity slider for fine adjustments. This filter simplifies the details in an image while preserving clean edges. It creates a great artistic effect.
Painter: A paint stroke filter that also has a reveal brush and opacity slider. Select your brush size and stroke length to apply a variety of artistic effects.

Next are links to to my 1001 poems and my three versions of the Dao De Jing, all of which relate the outlook of that classic to Douglas Harding's viewpoint on headless seeing.

Lastly are links to Bluesky, where I post poems and comments and digiart images daily, and to Flickr and Tumblr, where I have posted many images in the past.
