Layer Blend Studio

This app lets you load two layers. The top layer is the main layer. The underlayer will enlarge or contract to take on the dimensions of the top layer. Each layer has an opacity slider to diminish the effect of that layer.

You can use this app to add textures, background colors, frames and other effects to your main image.

You can choose among several blend modes. Experiment with these and the opacity sliders. Multiply blend mode is the one default. It shows both layers of the image. Another option is to make the underlayer negative. Try making the underlayer negative and selection screen mode. This will make blacks into whites on your blended image. The only way to learn how the app works is to use it.

There is also an eraser brush that will erase parts of the underlayer to reveal the top image or erase parts of the top layer to reveal the underlayer. You select the brush mode you need. The default setting is to erase or fade the underlayer. You can adjust brush size, pressure, and feathering. If you make a mistake when using the brush, there are 15 levels of undo to go back and correct your errors.

There are many hundreds of texture, frame and border images suitable for blending on various websites. Try Pexels, Pixabay, and Unsplash. Why not save some of your favorites in a blender files folder.
